President's message
Welcome back everyone. The 2011 outdoor tennis season will soon be here and we are all looking forward to another exciting season of tennis. We hope to see you all soon at Wishing Well. This year we have a new membership secretary. Penny Robinson takes over the position from Oi Yen Chen who we would like to thank for many years of hard work. Please make Penny's job as easy as possible by mailing your membership forms to her at your earliest convenience. Milica Stamenic will be our tennis coach again this year. A profile of her appears on the next page. She will be offering group lessons this year starting in early May as well as private lessons. All our membership fees are the same as last year. Join by opening day on April 30 and get the early bird adult rate of $60.00. This year we are again going to put a combination lock on the clubhouse gate. You will receive the combination when you join the club. Many thanks to all the members of the executive committee, without which the club would not be able to function. The success of the club depends on the volunteers who serve on the executive, and various other club members who volunteer their time and energy. The long-term success and viability of the club depend on maintaining and hopefully increasing the levels of membership and having new members volunteer to help the club. If you would like to be a volunteer and contribute to the success of the club, please let us know. Please check the calendar on the website or the noticeboard to find out when the courts are occupied for competitive league matches. The competitive season starts on Tuesday May 12 and continues until the middle of August.

OPENING DAY

April 30 is opening day at WWTC (rain date May 1). Come for the free barbecue starting at 1:00pm, socialize with other members and play some tennis. Asad Hussain who used to coach for the club several years ago will be coordinating drills and games for both junior and adult members. Prizes will be awarded to junior participants. Members will be able to pay their membership fees and pick up their shoe tags.

round robin on Monday
evenings from 7:00 pm onwards.
This is open to all members. All
you have to do is show up and
someone will organize partners.

About the Tennis Pro
Milica Stamenic has 10 years of tennis experience, ranging from world class competitive tennis to world renowned instruction. Milica played for Team Canada and ascended the ranks to become the top junior player in Canada . She was awarded a scholarship to the extremely prestigious Nick Bollettieri Sports Academy . Milica went on to play on the professional tennis tour throughout Europe . She incorporates the best techniques from her unique experiences into a tennis teaching philosophy that is sure to create a great tennis atmosphere for Wishing Well.
